Airport, Travel Tips, Rachel Bilson
With increased security measures due to bigger alarms in our national safety, it has made it harder than ever just to make it to our airport gates. In the old days, we would simply walk through minimal security without having to take off our shoes or put our laptops in a separate bin - not to mention all the other personal effects that we carry with us through the gates. On average, the time it takes us to get through airport security has risen by almost 30 minutes in only a decade. Due to TSA's restrictions, it has made travelling a challenge, but we can't put all the blame all on TSA, because they are doing the best to protect us. Yet, there are a number of ways we can help to make the process a lot easier. Here are 5 tips for getting through airport security faster.

1. One of the biggest ways to make it easier for you, and everyone else waiting in line, is to not wear too many accessories, especially metal ones, if you know you will be getting on a plane. Make sure to take off rings, earrings, necklaces and bracelets before you even get to the airport. This can save an enormous amount of time for you and your fellow travelers. You might not realize it, but you could be spending more time relaxing at the gate, if you didn't have to take off all that jewelry, one by one.

2. Also, make sure to check your bags and throw out anything that has liquid in it, like toothpaste and shampoo. Airport security will make sure that you dump it all out or wrap it up to send to yourself, which could mean increasing the amount of time at the checkpoint for way longer than you have to be. If it is an unmarked bottle or container, airport security

There are many ways to enjoy a trip overseas, but for many the only option is the freedom of a rented car. Renting a car in your destination will allow you the freedom of going wherever you want whenever you like, but it always comes at a price. Alternative modes of transport may be better for some travelers. Remember to take these considerations into account before you decide to rent a car in a foreign country.

Renting a Car, Rent a Car, Travel Tips,

1. Obtaining an International License
Before you decide to drive in a foreign country, you'd be wise to look into obtaining an international license. Your home-issued driver's license may be enough to secure a rented car, but foreign laws may not be entirely clear about whether or not you'll need an international license to drive legally for the duration of your trip. This is especially important if you're going to be driving in multiple countries. Being reprimanded for unlicensed driving in a foreign country can ruin a trip quicker than almost anything.

2. Paying for Gasoline
If you're coming from the States and planning on driving around a foreign country, be prepared for a shock when you go to fill up at the gas station. You may think gas prices are high at home, but they're much higher in most foreign countries. Also, be sure to remember that most foreign countries sell gas by the liter, not by the gallon. As a final word of caution, names for gasoline vary wildly between different countries. Make sure you know what you're

When you think of traditional British food you immediately think of bangers and mash, fish and chips and shepherd’s pie. In fact Britain's best dishes are set according to area; what is a stable diet in Liverpool may not be the traditional favourite in Cornwall.

Scouse

Scouse is a homely dish that you will find in Liverpool. The dish was originally introduced by European sailors who called in Labskause, eventually the name evolved to Scouse which was eaten by sailors and their families. Today this delicious heart-warming meal is a dish that makes any Liverpudlian feel at home.

Scouse is usually made from lamb with potato, carrots and onion to form a mouth-watering and warming dish perfect for winter. If you order what you need in your veg boxes you can make this delightful feast next time you have a friend visiting from Liverpool.

The Famous Cornish pasty

The Cornish pasty dates back centuries and was originally made for miners enabling them to get a full meal when they had to eat quickly, they could hold the pasty in one hand and their drink in the other during a short break before heading back to the mines.

The Cornish pasty is a staple part of Cornwall and if properly made will have potatoes, onion and meat separated. The reason for this was that you could start eating across the pasty, getting all of the hearty meal in one.

Aylesbury Duck

Britain, British, Best Dishes, Food, Liverpool, Cornwall, Scouse, Aylesbury Duck, Scotland, Food and Travel, Food Blog, Top Foods,

Aylesbury duck is a favourite meal in Buckinghamshire and is often a slow roasted duck with an orange and apple sauce. The duck when properly made and served with delicious vegetables is a home cooked meal for many families from the area.

Bubble and Squeak

Bubble and squeak was considered the poor man’s food, yet it is one of the most delicious of all left over meals and

With people all over the country thinking that cruise holidays are out of their league, now is the time to set the record straight. Gone are the days where the cruises on Voyager of the Seas and the larger megaships only appeal to the wealthy holidaymaker. Nowadays, it doesn't matter what budget you have, you can find Royal Caribbean cruise deals to suit you and your purse strings.

Using the expertise of a travel agent or online cruise provider will mean that you are ideally placed to benefit from the best deals, and that you will be able to benefit from whatever great value packages are available. Finding the perfect cruise deal can be simple if you know the tricks of the trade, so that you can always be in the optimum position to find the best deals.

Early bird offers and last minute deals can be ideal ways to secure amazing deals. Book in advance if you have to adhere to time constraints, such as due to work commitments, school terms and suchlike. If you book ahead with plenty of time before your departure, you could enjoy some fantastic early bird rates. Similarly, choosing a last

Although there are now plenty of easy ways to book a vacation online, no internet search engine can beat the experience of a travel specialist. You might have forgotten that travel agents even exist anymore, and it is true that this industry has taken a serious step back thanks to the internet. But companies planning frequent trips or individuals looking for the best bang for their buck still lean on those who make it their business to find the best deals and nail down travel options that take you outside of the tourist trap and off the beaten path. If you're willing to take the time to work with a travel specialist, chances are you've got a major trip ahead of you. And that person will make the process of planning and booking even easier than if you handled things online, with the added bonus of some unexpected perks. Yet you don't want to waste your money or energy on someone who can't offer any real benefit. Just because someone sells themselves as a travel specialist doesn't mean they're actually qualified. There are no educational requirements, after all. So here are a couple of tips to help you find a reputable travel specialist for your next trip.

It's always a great idea to start your search with your credit card provider. If you have a credit card known to assist travelers, such as an American Express card or a Visa or MasterCard tied into a rewards program, they may have a concierge who will work with you to find a travel specialist. These card programs often offer travel rewards, and those rewards don't just come from the brands themselves. The companies frequently work with travel specialists
